Each year WHS PTSA is pleased to offer scholarships to 3 graduating seniors to persue further education.    These scholarships acknowledge academic achievements and contributions to the school as well as community involvement through work or volunteer activities.

  • Two Falcon Awards at $2000/each 
  • One Falcon "Liza Yore" Spirit Award $2000/each

 

WHS PTSA Falcon Award: These two scholarships will focus on all aspects of the application.  Grades, AP classes, academic achievement, involvement in school activities, financial considerations, outside circumstances, personal drive and committment are all important factors.  It’s okay to state your need in this application; relate how you will put this scholarship to good use taking some financial burden off of yourself or your family. 


WHS PTSA “Liza Yore”Spirit Award: Our former PTSA president, Liza Yore, gave everything and then some to PTSA and our community. In her memory, this scholarship is designed to highlight the One Falcon, One Family mantra. Let your school involvement shine through with this application. How did you personally impact “One Falcon, One Family”? Academics are a part of this, but spotlight your involvement in our community, through clubs, activities, sports, extras that you were a part of  -- what makes you worthy of this award? Tell us all the details. 


Amount: Three $2,000 scholarships will be awarded. The scholarship must be used for tuition fees at an accredited two- or four-year college or university, or an accredited vocational/technical school during the year following graduation. Payment will be made directly to the institution, not you personally. 

Eligibility: Applicant must be a graduation senior from Woodinville High School in the class of 2024.

Evaluation: Applications will be evaluated using the following criteria: leadership, school and community involvement, academic performance, financial need, letters of recommendation and essay. Consideration will be given to effort in completion of the application and overall presentation of the application. Judging is performed by a committee of PTSA members and volunteers. The final tallies will be compiled and the three top scoring candidates will be awarded scholarships. The recipients will be notified by May 15, 2024

You MUST receive this confirmation of receipt. Emailed applications MUST include: completed application, transcript, letter of recommendation – no exceptions. Incomplete applications will NOT be considered. All information MUST be emailed together, do not send in separate emails. Professionalism in your application presentation and completeness of the application process matters!

DEADLINE: Applications MUST be emailed to woodyPTSAscholar@hotmail.com and received by midnight Monday, April 1, 2024. Absolutely no late applications will be accepted, and incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Please ensure that you complete everything on time.
